H.H. is 12 months now. She has a history of swollen tonsils and repeated ear infections over her first year of life.
Anamnesis
H.H. gets high temperatures all the time. She even had a convulsion once’.
‘She has had 6 antibiotics. She is in creche too.’

Family Anamnesis
Mum has a history of sensitivity in the form of hayfever and sinus.
Findings at First Visit
Tonsils
‘She is sweaty and when you put her down in the cot she has a wet head, just on her hair line’.
‘She is coughing first thing in the morning and at night sometimes, she is almost choking, face goes red and she coughs to the point of getting sick, retching’.
‘Settles at 7pm and awake at 7 am’.
‘It is only water that comes out’.
Chesty
’When she gets a tooth she coughs, high cheek colour’.
‘She is cold in herself, cold hands’.
‘The doctor says she has a postnasal drip and the cough is not in the chest’.
‘She wakes with the cough but she gets back to sleep.’
‘He sounds chesty all the time but the doctor says his lungs are clear’.

The Present
This child has recovered well from her ear and tonsils issues. Mum will use Calc Carb as a first line when she feels that her child is coming down with a flu/cough/cold. She will give one dry dose and then plus the remedy in water giving it to her at regular intervals until she see the symptoms improving.
