A Case of Nux Vom

Homeopath Edel Bolger O’Hora (May 2022)

C.A. is an eleven year old girl who came to my practice in 2013.  She is a shy child, thin and has mousy brown hair. She is quite thirsty and absolutely won’t eat ‘peas’. Her biggest fear is that something bad will happen her mother and father.

Anxiety
‘A few weeks ago I did a show, I lost my confidence, and I lost my breath’.
‘When I am like that I feel sick, I feel I can’t do stuff’
‘I am better from Mum being there; she says breath in and out deeply. Then I am easier’.
‘My breathing is loud and fast, I feel I will stop breathing, Mum says that is impossible so then it eases’.
‘Then I get over it and I go to the end of the show’.
‘It happens going to school sometimes and it goes away when mum is there’.

Sleep

Conclusion
C. A. comes to me on and off,   just for acute coughs and cold issues now. Her Constitutional remedy(Nux Vom) is very effective in treating both cough/flue and anxieties about school or her friends.  Occasionally we use the Miasmatic remedy(inheritance) when the Nux Vom appear to be overwhelmed.
