Homeopath Edel Bolger O’Hora World Homeopathy Awareness Week is celebrated from the 10th-16th April annually. Organised by the World Homeopathy Awareness Organisation, the week is a celebration of both homeopaths and those who have been healed with homeopathy. The primary goals of World Homeopathy Awareness Week are to raise public awareness of homoeopathy and improve accessibility to homeopathy. The story of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann(1755 to 1843) is interesting. In 1796, Hahnemann published his Essay on a New Principle, detailing his work with the cinchona plant. Later, in 1810, his seminal work in the theory and practice of homeopathy, Organon of the Rational Art of Healing, was published. He was married to Henrietta Kuchler in 1792 and they had 11 children(2 boys and 9 girls) and he was G.P. in Dessau, Germany. Then, between 1792 and 1804 he lived in 14 different towns. At the time he translated 24 large books and articles into German. He finally settled in Torgau in 1804 for a whole 7 years. During this time he perfected his theories about Homeopathy and he published the Organon in 1810 and Materia Medica in 1811. In 1812 he moved to Leipzig where he was teaching in the University Medical School. He was controversial in that he objected to blood letting and curing with mercury that were standard procedures by doctors of that period. In 1821 he moved to Cothen where he worked for the Duke and prepared his own medicines. In 1828 he published the book ‘The Theory of Chronic Diseases.’ Hahnemann’s Wife died in 1830 at age 67yrs. He had a large G.P. practice in Cothen and continued to translate and publish articles. He lived with his two daughters during this time. He met Marie Melanie D’Hervilly-Gohier in 1834, who visited him from Paris. They married in 1835 and he moved to Paris the same year. He lived there for 8 years where he established a medical practice with his young wife. He established the small remedies and the LM Potency during this time. He wrote the Fifth Organon in 1842 and it was only published years after his death. He died on his 89th Birthday at the house in Rue de Milan and the epitaph on his tomb is “Non Intutillis V1X1”( I have not lived in vain) References https://worldhomeopathy.org/ https://www.facebook.com/WorldHomeopathyAwarenessWeek/ https://medicosage.com/biography-of-dr-samuel-hahnemann-father-of-homoeopathy-homeopathy Homeopathy Consultation is a process tailored on a case by case basis.
