I am writing this article to help me put into context living through a pandemic as we have done in this past year. I remember my grandparents as I write this article. My grandfather was 20 years old when the Spanish Flu happened in 1918 ton 1919 ( Mortality Rate 200,000 people in the UK, mostly adults and elderly ), he was 59 years old when the Asian Flu happened 1957 to 1958 ( Mortality rate was 33, 000 children in the UK ). He also lived through the 20th Century where the death rate from TB dropped from 16.1 per 100,000 population to 6.3 per 100,00 population in 2014. I remember my parents in conversation with my grandparents about the impact of this on themselves, their families and their communities emotionally, spiritually and physically. I was in my teens and early twenties and these conversations meant nothing to me at the time. Now, with this pandemic I am getting an insight into their experiences and concerns first hand. NPHET and the Government, for a year now, have endevoured to protect communities with their response to Covid-19. Their plans include to:
Children are living with the constant fear that if they met a ‘maskless’ face they might contract the virus, pass it to their grandparents and cause their death! Yet, the authorities state that children are rarely carriers nor a health risk. This mixed message is confusing for children. Who do they believe? The young are hearing increasingly about the Covid 19 variants in a perpetual bad news story. This is wearing them down with the result that their patience is thin and they are becoming increasingly disconnected from society. How does Homeopathy fit in to this Life Stage where trust and confidence is challenged and there is no certainty? How do people keep themselves healthy emotionally, physically and spiritually? Homeopathy, through diagnosis, tries to understand the totality of how the person is transformed from their experiences into suffering physically and/or mentally. It looks at the responsibility we have for developing a condition, the resources we have to overcome it, where it takes us, and the sense each of us gives to it. In other words each of us have our individual reaction to our experiences of the world. This is expressed through our ‘disease’. Homeopathy is not just a therapeutic mode, it is a way of linking you with life. It means to understand that we are complex beings travelling a complex path with a goal common to all: achieving happiness, peace and harmony. Homeopathy has strategies for epidemics, accute illness and for chronic health conditions. It has the possibility to return you to balance after the fact. ( This pandemic ) Supporting families with life’s challenges is why I came from public health into Homeopathy. If you or your family are experiencing anxiety, stress or insomnia at this time do reach out and try Homeopathy as an effective and safe health choice.as they are available Reference: https://hpathy.com/homeopathy-papers/homeopathy-and-human-nature/ https://www.gov.ie/en/campaigns/resilience-recovery-2020-2021-plan-for-living-with-covid-19/# https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-action-plan/coronavirus-action-plan-a-guide-to-what-you-can-expect-across-the-uk https://www.cso.ie/en/releasesandpublications/ep/p-1916/1916irl/bmd/deaths/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaccine_hesitancy Homeopathy Consultation is a process tailored on a case by case basis.
